Gnomeo, Oh Gnomeo

Did you know gnomes walk and talk, the moment we turn our backs to them? Well, Mia didn’t know that either, but every day over the phone my mom had been telling her about the gnomes who live in her garden. One day, under the leaves, she had found Puntmutsje (Pointy Hat), who had lost his mommy. She took him inside and told him about Mia who lives in New York, with a doll bed in her room, that would perfectly fit him. Of course he wanted to come with her on the plane. So when she came to visit us last month, and brought Puntmutsje, Mia was convinced.

Apparently, Kelly Asbury had also heard the story about the gnomes, and made a movie about it, Gnomeo and Juliet. So to keep the Puntmutsje story alive, I took the girls to the theater to see it. Like most of the feature animations today, there is both an adult and a child level of humor. It was hilarious. And Sir Elton John did the music. Who doesn’t love his classics!
